1. Do we need to bring our own towels, bed and kitchen linen?
No we supply hotel quality bed linen, pillows and towels, BUT if you ask for travel cot, you will need to supply your own travel cot linen.
We will also provide you with a tea towel and a kitchen cloth. Please tell us in advance if you have asthma or allergies so we can ensure your bed is made up with hypoallergenic bedding. As a rule, all our quilts are cotton and pillows are bamboo, but sometimes when we provide extra blankets - these may be made from materials that cause sensitivities for some people. Let us know and we will remove them ahead of your stay.
2. Can we stay for one or two nights?
During public holidays and peak seasons, we now require a minimum two night stay. At all other times you can choose to stay for one night or more - it is up to you.
3. Can we drive our car up to the tent?
If you have a full 4WD, yes you can drive down the hill and park your vehicle on the flat surface before the gate that leads to the glamping site. The last 50 meters is pedestrian access only. Otherwise, you can park your car at the house and we can either give you a ride in our 4WD or you can take the walking track to the glamp site.
4. Can we bring our dog?
No, we are very sorry, but you cannot bring your dog. This is a working farm and the glamp site is situated in an area of native bush with wildlife that is not used to dogs.
5. Can we bring a travel cot?
Yes. There is a travel cot available, but please remember to bring the linen for your travel cot as we do not supply this. You can bring your own travel cot if you wish.
6. Is there a fridge to keep food and drink cold?
Because our glamping site is off grid, there is no electricity and no fridge. We therefore ask you to bring your own chilly bin. Ice can be purchased from the service station at Mercer, less than 3kms away.
6. Is there a heater in the tents ? No, we do not have a heater in the tents as it is an off-grid experience. However there is a wood burning stove inside Friesian. We supply the wood. The stove generates enough heat so you can be warm and toasty inside the tent. We also provide blankets and hot water bottles for extra evening warmth.
For Angus, we have installed a small frontier stove outside the tent. We also provide blankets and hot water bottles in case.
7. What cooking facilities are there?
The Friesian tent has its own kitchen with a BBQ and single ring gas stove. The bell tent, Angus has its own kitchen which also has a BBQ and a 2 ring gas stove.
8. Is there Wi-Fi?
No, this is an off-grid experience. 3G and 4G signal is available on the farm and at the glamp site. If you absolutely need wi-fi, McDonalds is less than 3 kilometres away.
9. Are the showers and toilets communal?
No. The Friesian tent (which sleeps up to 6) has its own "ensuite" bathroom with a flushing toilet, gas-heated shower, kitchen facilities and outdoor bath. The Angus Tent (which sleeps 2) has an external bathroom with a flushing toilet, gas-heated shower and outdoor bath as well as a fully equipped kitchen.
10. Is electricity available for charging our phones?
We do have an external power point up at the house (about 150 metres away from the glamp site) should you need it. Otherwise, you might like to charge your phone using your in car charger or bring a power pack with you to charge your devices.
11. Can we bring our own tent?
No, we do not offer tent pitching facilities.
12. Do we have to clean the tent before we leave?
Yes, we ask that you please ensure that all the washing up is done and put away. If you hire more than one tent, please ensure that the cutlery and plate ware is returned to the original kitchen it came from.
13. What are the arrival and departure times?
We ask that you check in from 2pm and arrive no later than about 4pm or 5pm whilst it is still relatively light, as the glamp site is a little way from the farm and down a slight incline. We need you to see and familiarize yourself with the layout in daylight.
We ask that you check out no later than 10:00am. We are a working farm and like you, have busy daily schedules. If you need a late check out, please ask us in advance and we will see what we can arrange. The glamp site is very popular and it is not always possible to arrange a late check out.
14. Is any food provided?
You need to bring all your own food and drink. We supply a few basics to cover things you might easily forget or might be too bulky to bring, such as condiments, cooking oil, vinegar, tea, coffee, cereal, milk and sugar.
We can a supply heat and eat single serve breakfasts if you wish (as an optional extra treat) but you need to let us know in advance.
