Directions from Auckland

Take State Highway 1 heading South. Take the Mercer Pukekawa Exit. At the end of the off ramp, turn right onto Koheroa Road crossing the highway.  Take the first left onto Mercer Ferry Road crossing the Waikato River.  We are 2.68 kilometres up the road on the right.  Look for a long white farmhouse.  Park near the visitor parking sign and knock on the front door. 

We are approximately 45 minutes south of central Auckland and about 40 minutes from Auckland airport depending on the traffic. There are supermarkets and restaurants at Pukekohe about 22 kilometres north of us, and you might want to stop here on the way to get supplies or to eat.

Directions from Hamilton

Heading north on State Highway 1 (Waikato Expressway) take the Mercer Pukekawa Exit. Turn left onto Roose Road just before the entrance to the Mercer Services. Take the first left onto Riverbank Road and then turn right onto Mercer Ferry Road crossing the Waikato River. We are 2.68 kilometres up the road on the right. Look for a long white farmhouse. Park near the visitor parking sign and knock on the front door.

We are approximately 45 minutes to one hour drive north of Hamilton depending on the traffic. As we are about 22 kilometres away from major restaurants and supermarkets, we recommend you either stop in Hamilton for something to eat or bring some supplies with you. Another great alternative is to dine at the Rangiriri Hotel, which is about 20 minutes south of us and in our experience, does huge, fresh meals for a reasonable price.

Directions from Hobbiton

From Hobbiton follow the signs towards Taupiri. Take State Highway 1B towards Hamilton & Taupiri. After Gordonton, the signs are labelled Auckland State Highway 1 (Waikato Expressway) take the Mercer Pukekawa Exit. Turn left onto Roose Road just before the entrance to the Mercer Services. Take the first left onto Riverbank Road and then turn right onto Mercer Ferry Road crossing the Waikato River. We are 2.68 kilometres up the road on the right. Look for a long white farmhouse. Park near the visitor parking sign and knock on the front door.

Directions from Waikato

Leave Waitomo and head towards Otorohanga, and Pirongia.  Take State Highway 23 towards Ngaruawahia. Follow the signs toward Hamilton, then Auckland  joining State Highway 1 towards Huntly and Auckland. Take the Mercer Pukekawa Exit. Turn left onto Roose Road just before the entrance to the Mercer Services. Take the first left onto Riverbank Road and then turn right onto Mercer Ferry Road crossing the Waikato River. We are 2.68 kilometres up the road on the right. Look for a long white farmhouse. Park near the visitor parking sign and knock on the front door.

It will take you approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes from Waitomo Caves to the Luxury Under Canvas glamp site. Please bring supplies with you. We are 22 kilometres from the nearest major supermarket. You can stop to eat on the way at Hamilton or at the Rangiriri Hotel.
